Damn, Son

You had me fooled, but you can’t fool yourself.

Key Word: Devour

“Nothing is original.  Steal from anywhere that resonate with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery– celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: It’s not where you take things from—its where you take them to.”

out of context verbal highlights from the weekend past-

“I’m your boyfriend. Done. Or the black version? I’m your boo. Done.”

At Olympic Ceremony rehearsal:

“Why does Vancouver have to come after China?”

February is going to be a blurrrrrrrrrrrrrrr with Chinese New Years, birthdays, homecomings and OH OLYMPICS stacked on top and in-between each other like they forgot March and April could use some highlights too. My CANADA toque is on ready to celebrate the whats and the whos with you! An energy has spread across the city and it’s about time Vancouver woke up from hibernation. All eyes on us- I am officially feeling it. Kicking it off by attending the Opening Ceremony rehearsals tonight, thanks to Oli for flagging Hungary! I wish I played a more significant role in the Olympics but as it stands, I’m just a bystander with no money and no time off, but I’ll rock whatever comes my way like gold. Torch relay? Street dancing? Free shows? Count me in for all of the above. And with sunshine fueling the games, I feel like meeting a Mattias from Sweden and an Ilya from Russia to exchange anthems, antics and dance moves right through the day and well into the night. Let the spirit overflow from our pints into our hearts because this is. This is once in a lifetime.

I’ve fallen asleep with you before

I wanted to stretch morning out so far that it reached back into night just so we could go back to bed again. Forget that carpe diem bullshit. Lets just stay in bed; the world can spin without us today. We’re not meant to sleep apart. I’m pretty sure your shoulders grew wide to cradle my heavy head and my legs grew long to tangle up in yours. Plus body heat is meant to be shared, so turn it on higher a notch won’t ya? I’ll trade you some skin for some warmth. And ya maybe I’m dreaming to think we could stay in bed all day but maybe reality isn’t so bad. After all…

I’ve woken up next to you before
